GOING GREEN?

Save Money using Water Butts?

I thought I would invest in a number of water butts (£14.99 for 227 litres from Wilko's) to help keep the lawn green during the hot summers we have in the uk!

Out of interested I decided to calculate how much money I might save by using them.

Water supply and used water charges are based on the volume of water used. This is measured in cubic metres (m3), 1m3 is equal to 220 gallons/1,000 litres of water.

Severn Trent Charge 2008:

Grand Saving - £0.46p per 227 litres. So I will have to fill each one 32 times before I see a return on my investment. I will have to go for the feel good factor of going green.
