using Water Butts?
I thought I would invest in a number
of water butts (£14.99 for 227
litres from Wilko's) to help keep
the lawn green during the hot
summers we have in the uk!
interested I decided to calculate
how much money I might save by using
supply and used water charges are
based on the volume of water used.
This is measured in cubic metres
(m3), 1m3 is equal to 220
gallons/1,000 litres of water.
Trent Charge 2008:
1.22 per 220 gallons - Clean
0.812 per 220 gallons - Used
Excludes standing charges.
total of £2.03 per 220 gallons
Saving - £0.46p per 227 litres. So I
will have to fill each one 32 times
before I see a return on my
investment. I will have to go for
the feel good factor of going green.
